Weekly Fun Sketch: Polar Bear

The other day I saw these on the shelf, and decided to take up water color painting as a hobby. I haven't done artistic anything since middle school art class, so I'm not perfect. I'm hoping to one day move up to acrylic paint.
But this is just the basics for now. I got most of the basic colors with plenty to use for now. I decided to draw something simple, and then it hit me. My girlfriend Daisy's favorite stuff animal that I ever gave her is a polar teddy bear with a red bow tie. So I decided to pick that as my first sketch.
It's a bit rough, but I thought I did the face well enough. Totally failed with the red bow tie part. I was also forced to paint some eyebrows after some paint accidentally wiped across the pad. I'm willing to take suggestions on what I should paint next week.

Great start. I think you can paint full body polar bear next.
Just a suggestion.

how exciting, I took up watercolor painting 25 years ago and i have enjoyed it very much but I will say acrylics are much easier in method than watercolor, much more forgiving, watercolor painting requires more technique but you will learn fast Im sure and you will love it.If you have had back ground in watercolor painting it will all come back and the library has books for instruction as well as online, your teddy is adorable, best of luck on your new hobby!

This is very exciting. It's great fun to make art. I'm looking forward to seeing what you create.

Happy Painting :-)

PS: Yes, aren't dogs funny? That's Wiggy before she goes into full dead dog mode, where she extends her limbs to stiff boards.

Cheers and boogie boogie.
