Fact of the Day: China's Valentines Day

While Valentine's Day is celebrated in China by some, another romantic event is the Qixi Festival which is often translated as "Night of Sevens". The festival is more about improving domestic arts and wishes for a good husband. It's celebrated on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month and originated during the Han Dynasty.

Well, they say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, so improving your 'domestic arts' might be a good starting point :)

That is a very interesting piece of info. I really enjoy learning about holidays around the world that we don't know about.

What a fun idea! We're planning a trip to China sometime this year. I just hope the smog isn't too bad.
