Fact of the Day: Western Kingbird

Despite being called the Eastern Kingbird, the birds are only found in the Western Hemisphere.

The Eastern Kingbird or (Tyrannus tyranus) got it's name because of it's agressive nature.I too am flummuxed by it's common name:)

it is a pretty bird!! It is interesting the names given to animals that don't resemble the part of the world they inhabit
