Fact of the Day: American Elephant

While elephants are well known for inhabiting Africa and Asia, a very close species of elephant-like creatures were also once in the Americas. The Mastodon lived in North America and Central American until their extinction about 12,000 years ago.

  11. really? where at in the americas, i wonder? i've heard an elephant object with it's tusks upward is a symbol of good luck.
