The Spider-Man cartoon from the 90's was one of my favorite shows as a kid. It was also probably why my favorite super-hero is Spider-Man. It's been years since I've watched it, and since it was on Netflix Instant I decided to see it all over again.
As a kid I doubt I saw the first episode on it's very first day, and it was rather strange (but in a way kinda cool) that they left an origins story out of the picture. From the start, Peter Parker is already Spider-Man and he must stop Dr. Curt Connors who is now transformed into the Lizard.
Plenty of new villains follow like Dr. Octopus, Scorpion, Hobgoblin, Mysterio, Kingpin, and many more. They also quickly introduce the alien symbiote who bonds with Spider-Man. After realizing the symbiote's evil nature, Peter Parker separates from it and it finds a new host Eddie Brock and forms the super-villain Venom. The epic battle between Spider-Man and Venom would seem like a good ending but the last episode is rather lame episode featuring Chameleon.
But overall I still enjoyed it almost as much as I did as a kid. I did notice that Spider-Man is far weaker than I remembered, and wins his fights with sometimes sheer luck. But I guess that's expected with the early beginnings of all super-hero tales.
