Fact of the Day: Branch Bean

The soybean known as edamame gets its name from its name in Japan. It literally means "branch bean" as eda (枝) means "branch" and mame (豆) means "bean".

When I was little neighbors used to bring branches of soybeans for us to cook. It was wonderful fresh picked!
