Fact of the Day: Einsteinium

The element Einsteinium is named after Albert Einstein and its symbol is Es on the periodic table. It was discovered in 1952 in the fallout of the thermonuclear device Ivy Mike which was tested for scientific purposes. It was discovered by scientist Albert Ghiorso who discovered other elements as well.
