During all the carnivals and fairs I've been to as a kid, I don't remember anyone in my family going on the Ferris wheel. I'm not a big fan of heights, but I felt bad when I got too scared to ride one at a carnival my fiancee Daisy and I went to earlier this year. Luckily my city had a special occasion where there was a Ferris wheel in downtown.
Believe it or not, it was a little difficult to find it. It's only 27.4m (90ft) tall, so many of the building in the area overshadow it.
Though I'm rather glad it's not terribly tall. Made it easier for me to be braver. We got there on a Sunday afternoon, and it was very crowded.
Daisy had a great time. She loved seeing such an aerial view of our city.
It wasn't scary at all even with my fear of heights. The Ferris wheel even stopped right at the top (new riders) for a few minutes and it was actually kind of nice to see the sky-view without any motion. The carnival I mentioned earlier had a Ferris Wheel at least twice as tall, so if they return in the fall we'll be sure to check it out.
