Fact of the Day: Charles Town

The capital of West Virginia, Charleston is named after Charles Clendenin. His son Savannah was a colonel and along with his Virginia Rangers built the first permanent settlement, Fort Lee.

I used to drive through Charleston all the time on I64 when traveling from KY to Richmond VA.
