Fact of the Day: Liberty Cabbage

Due to tense relations with Germany during World War I, Sauerkraut's name (in America) was changed to "liberty cabbage" until the war was over.

Too funny! I guess Freedom Fries wasn't the first time we changed the name of some food whose country we weren't happy with, hunh?

Definitely reminds me of the freedom fries mentioned above. I was a waiter during the Iraq war and everyone who ordered fries always said freedom fries. Got kinda annoying.
