Fact of the Day: Grant Memorial

In 1897 Grant's Tomb was completed as the final resting place of former President Ulysses S. Grant. President Grant died in 1885, so it actually took about 12 years to be built and finished.

Funny how people sometimes are more appreciated after their death than when they're alive. Thank you for stopping by my blog!

So why the joke about "Who's buried in Grant's tomb?" No one because Mr. and Mrs. Grant are above ground inside, resting in sarcophagi.
