Fact of the Day: Oxygen Discoverer

While Joseph Priestley had many scientific achievements, his greatest (though an honor he shares with Carl Wilhelm Scheele) would probably be the discovery of oxygen. He was even able to isolate it from other elements in the air.

  8. I had an Uncle who could isolate oxygen from the air, usually after a heavy Thanksgiving dinner.
