Fact of the Day: Presidential Widow

When President William McKinley was murdered by the politically-enraged Leon Czolgosz, his wife Ida McKinley went into a deep depression. She was so upset by the loss of her husband, that she couldn't bear to go to his funeral.

  1. Oh dear. So many women don't go to funerals, even some men because they can't handle the sadness.

  4. Yes, very sad, but this is how we got one of our best presidents when Teddy Roosevelt replaced McKinley.
