Fact of the Day: Nephew Justice

While politically independent, George Washington considered his views close to the Federalist Party. His Vice President John Adams was an official member of the party. Due to their friendship, it is no surprise that Adams made his first Supreme Court nominee one of Washington's nephews.

There's not much resemblance to Washington here, but this could have been Martha's nephew because George was no doubt sterile.
