Fact of the Day: General Custer

George Armstrong Custer was a general whose legacy has been looked upon negatively due to his role in the battles against Native American Tribes. Before he became a general, he wasn't exactly the greatest solider either. When he attended West Point, he graduated last in his class.

Didn't his wife try to bolster his reputation after he died? He was certainly not someone to emulate, that's for sure.

Hollywood played a large part in glamorizing his image. The real story is very different. Interesting post Adam, thank you!

He was a great self-promoter apparently. Had ambitions for the presidency someday as well. And of course, was a war criminal.
