Fact of the Day: Latin Lead

The word plumbing is derived from the Latin word for lead. As many of the world's first pipes were made of lead. This goes back to the days of the Roman Empire.

Yes, and the lead killed many of the slaves compelled to work with it. The rich weren't affected.

It would have been more apropos had it derived from the Latin word for "late"
