Fact of the Day: Carson Town

The capital of Nevada, Carson City is named after a man named Kit Carson. John C. Fremont was among the first European-Americans to settle in the region and he named a river that runs in present-day Carson City after Kit Carson who was his scout of the region.

Must be nice to have a place named after you. My family has a street named after it in a small city nearby my home town :) I always smile when I pass by it. Thanks for leaving such a kind comment on my blog!

Never been to Nevada. A coworker of mine went to Vegas in July and said it was very overrated.
