Fact of the Day: Running Emu

Despite being birds, emus cannot fly. However they were pretty good runners. They can sprint as fast as 31mph/50kmh and can travel long distances.

I wouldn't like to have one like that running after me. Once saw such an enu on the highway.

And Blue Emu soothes sore muscles.

Course, he could be fulla crap.

I'm glad they can't fly. Can you imagine one of those critters flying overhead and pooping on you?

I'd say that pretty fast!

Good info on the Emu:) I read your comment at Blue's blog about nine year old's and guns. I'm in North Carolina and know exactly where you're coming from.

A few years back, Emu raising was all the rage...people paid big money for a pair and then waited for them to lay eggs and they could get big dollars for the young.
My son and son in law both raised them, made a little money on them and then got out of the business. There's just not that big a market and the bottom fell out of the money.
