Fact of the Day: A Charlemagne Christmas

In the year 800, Charlemagne was crowned Emperor by Pope Leo III. This actually happened on Christmas Day.

The pope had a lot of power back then. Can't even imagine living in those times, it seems like it was a horrible hardship to just live day to day.
