Fact of the Day: Bear Cat

Panda bears are native to China, and in China they are called 大熊猫 (daxiongmao) in Mandarin Chinese. The name translates as "big bear cat"in English.

I've heard that they resemble the marsupial family more than bears. I guess it would be harder to market them as giant opossums.
