Question: Who Was Your Favorite Children's Book Author?

My was and still is Dr. Seuss, as his books have stood the test of time. They were brilliant, and some of the most creative works in modern fiction. When I eventually have children of my own, they certainly will have a lot of his books.

Who was your favorite author? If you don't have one, you can say your favorite book from childhood.

So many authors at different stages. I'll go with Roald Dahl followed by Seuss! I hope that you and Daisy have been enjoying a great weekend!

Probably it's Charles Perrault. I loved Cinderella. And I loved another ukranian fairytale about woman that love to talk so much. Two favourites.

Dr.Seuss hands down.
He was no clown.
His books were a delight.
I liked to read them at night.

Must begin with Dr. Seuss - but all mentioned here are good friends as well. Kipling!

Shel Silverstein! All of the above!

I had many, many favourite authors but I'll just mention Laura Ingalls Wilder who wrote the Little House on the Prairies books.

My favorite book was Mandy by Julie Edwards. I read it over and over. Julie Edwards is Julie Andrews, the actress. I recently bought it and read it again.

I also loved the Little House books...

I LOVE Dr. Seuss. I read his books to my children, and if I ever have grandchildren, I'll do the same for them. I have a large collection of this author's books in my home. As for my childhood, I don't think I had a favourite author. I liked way too many. I was a voracious reader and enjoyed all kinds of books.

I was always a fan of fairy tales, and I remember this one copy of Little Red Riding Hood I always read when I was a kid:)

I have too many... Especially since I taught first grade. I loved Dr. Seuss but Leo Lionni is coming to mind right now.
