Fact of the Day: Catholic Cats

Pope Innocent VIII was certainly not a cat-person, as he declared them demonic creatures in the 15th century. While cats survived in Europe, the Pope's superstition about them did not make some countries in Europe a safe place for felines.

I suppose the moral of all this is - "Don't call your cat Innocent or Innocence".

Oh, poor cats!
And regarding the impro greenhouse: we just put the plants between the windows (we have double windows) - it's not actually a greenhouse but works for now! :-)

I knew that a certain pope ordered all the birds in the Vatican killed because their chirping bothered his sleep, but I didn't know about this cat-hating pope.
