I spent plenty of time listening to religious people explain things that are easily over-turned by scientific evidence, but this story is one of the strangest cases. The leader of a right-wing and social conservative political party in Pakistan, Fazal-ur-Rehman blames recent earthquakes on nothing other than women wearing jeans.I hate to break it to Mr. Crazy, but women wear jeans all the time here in South Carolina and I can't remember the last time we had a bad earthquake.

I had not heard of Big Eyes until rather recently. The title sounds rather dull, but it's a fitting title for a movie based on the life of this particular painter. I mainly wanted to see it because Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz were in it. Waltz is easily one of the most talented actors I've ever seen.
While it seems almost any Republican mentioned on a national level think they have what it takes to be President, the Democratic side has seen fewer volunteers. While I like Bernie Sanders the most of the three currently running, I see two-term Governor of Maryland Martin O'Malley having the best chance of winning the general election. Even though I'm a Democrat, I'm not excited for Hilary Clinton's 2016 run. She's getting too old, made many mistakes in and out of office, and every presidential candidate needs their whole party's full support which I don't think she'll get.
In the Sherlock Holmes stories, his greatest nemesis was Professor James Moriarty. In the stories, Moriarty's father might not have been a very clever man himself. As Professor Moriarty had a brother that was named James as well.

I had never heard of The Big Wedding in 2013 despite so many famous actors being part of the movie. My wife Daisy had actually watched it first awhile back, and wanted me to watch it with her again. Despite wanting to see it because Robin Williams (and Amanda Seyfried) was in it, I had heard critical opinion was pretty bad.

Back in 2001, Halo changed FPSs forever and made jaws literally dropped in its level of quality. Its developer Bungie went from a team nobody knew of to one that everyone knew about. After making four Halo games, Bungie branched out to make something new. Destiny is one of the rare games to be made for two generations of consoles. Since I don't have a PS4, I had to play the inferior version on PS3.

I sure wasn't a confident driver, sometimes even today. I actually trust myself even back then, but it's the other fools on the road I don't trust. Though driving a car for the first time was scary as reality does sink in. My method of learning was to drive a small amount and going a little farther the next time and so on and so on.
Were you more or less confident as a new driver?

Sleepless in Seattle is a movie I hadn't heard of until just recently. I was listening to a talk-program on the radio and one the people mentioned the movie and that it has Tom Hanks in it. Who doesn't love Tom Hanks in a movie? I also figured my wife Daisy would like it since it's a romantic comedy-drama.

For many years I have slept on a body-pillow, as I find it way more comfortable especially as a mattress gets older. Daisy had not, and after we got married she must of realized how comfortable it was in our bed. Without even telling me or talking about it, in the middle of the night she basically pulls it from under me and takes it for herself. The next day we went out and looked for one of her own.
Daisy was born in Minnesota but her parents are from Laos, so whether she liked it or not, they made sure to give her a proper Laotian Wedding too. They are usually held at the bride's family's home, and we had our American-style wedding on Friday, and this one the next day. The rules were a little different too, as my brother Brandon could not be my best man for this one as he was married. So I had my friend John step in.
During World War I, an American solider named Alvin York earned the Medal of Honor. During a battle against German forces, he took out a machine gun nest, killed six enemy soldiers, and captured 132 others. The most amazing thing is that he accomplished most of this by himself.

King Arthur is one of the most timeless tales in the western world. I had really enjoyed the mini-series Merlin with Sam Neill from 1998. This one came out in 2008, which I hear was inspired by Smallville which featured a story that's been told many times (in its case Superman) but with much younger characters. This one has Merlin far from an old man, as he's about the same age as Arthur when he's a prince.
On the night we were married, Daisy obviously wanted to go out to eat. She had already been to her favorite restaurant Longhorn Steakhouse, a mere four days before (for our anniversary of dating) so we wanted something different. We went to IHOP, and I always like going there during the evenings. It's busier during mornings (as it's more known for breakfast), so I enjoy restaurants that have less people and a more calmer mood.
Macbeth is one of William Shakespeare's most famous plays, but the play's King actually existed. He was King of Scots from 1040-1057, though it is said he was killed in battle by the future Malcom III. Despite his role in Shakespeare's work, no historic evidence has been found to suggest Macbeth was a tyrant.

Apparently not all the votes are in just yet, but it seems that Irish voters have voted to allow marriage equality in Ireland. About half of my heritage comes from the Emerald Isle, and I'm very proud of Ireland for supporting marriage rights for all Irish citizens. Ireland is also the first country to vote on the matter with a nationwide vote rather than through a congress/parliament or judicial courts.
While women's suffrage took place for most of the Western World by the 1940's, however Switzerland was very late to give women the right to vote in democratic elections. On a national level, Swiss women finally got suffrage in 1971.

I had heard about The Judge very recently and thought it looked promising. Even since the Iron Man/Avengers films, I usually try to see a movie with Robert Downey Jr. in it. I also heard Leighton Meester was also in the movie, as my wife Daisy really liked her as Blair Waldorf in the TV series Gossip Girl. So I figured she'd be excited to see Meester in this film.
I took this photo at our wedding of Daisy talking and smiling with her cousin Alyna and her brother Jeffrey. Every-time I see Daisy with her cousins (doesn't matter which ones), she is always smiling and in a good mood.

During one of my first years playing baseball, I was tricked by the other team. In baseball, running to a base is your only priority when you hit the baseball. You rely on your coaches to scream on whether to stop or to go. I remember going to base and hearing my coaches say "stop Adam stop" but kids on the other team say "go Adam go". Being little I was a little confused, but "go" sounded better to me so I ran. Should have listened to the coaches as I didn't make it safely to the next base.
The first geological period of Earth began soon after the Earth formed 4.54 billion years ago and ended about four billion years ago. It is named the Hadean period after the Greek God of the underworld, Hades. The name was chosen as the Earth was very volcanic and hot at the time.

Mine was a 1998 Buick LeSabre. There was things I liked about the car, but I didn't like how the air conditioning did not work at all. The white paint was also not the greatest thing as it would show all the dirt no matter what. I'd have to wash it at least once a week.
Women in Saudi Arabian can't drive a car by law, and the same goes for all methods of transportation. The only exception is bicycles, however they must be with a male relative nearby and they can only ride the bicycle for fun.

As I mentioned awhile back, my betta fish Yuki had passed away. I actually knew how she died, as it was all my mother's fault. Even though she's not a clownfish (or male), my mother would call my fish "Nemo". She thought it would be fun to pet her Nemo on the head, and my fish went into shock. She stayed near the bottom of her tank for the rest of the night. The next morning, I found her in her log lifeless.
This is one of the photos we took outside during the wedding. Daisy's very shy about kissing in public, but she did pretty well during the photos. Usually she'll start to giggle a lot, and get embarrassed by the thought of it.

I've always been someone who tries to support the underdog, so a few weeks ago I took Daisy to a new pizza place that opened up not that long ago. It's called Marco's Pizza, and only thought there were a handful of them, but they have a lot of pizza parlors in the United States.
During the 17th century, a Swedish warship named Vasa was built. King Gustavus Adolphus wanted the warship to be a powerhouse in the Thirty Years War, but she sank on her maiden voyage. The reason may have been because nobody wanted to tell the king of its problems, like it having too much weight on top.

I had never heard of The Tale of The Princess Kaguya until very recently. The main reason I wanted to see it is that it's from Studio Ghibili which is like Japan's Pixar in quality. The story is based on the 10th century Japanese folktale known as The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter.
When Mazie Hirono was elected to the Senate in 2012, she became a lot of "firsts" in American democracy. She is Hawaii's first female senator, the first Asian-American woman in the Senate, the first Senator born in Japan, and America's first Buddhist senator.
Unlike some weddings, we only had one member of the bridesmaid/groomsman be in our wedding. My brother Brandon was quite honored being my best man. We almost had a crisis when Daisy's cousin Tiffany was suppose to be the maid of honor, but she ended up not being able to make it. Luckily the dress we had gotten for Tiffany also fit her cousin Alyna. She was actually Daisy's first choice, though her mom made her pick Tiffany since Alyna had lived all the way in Minnesota.

While I liked Baja Blast, the other new Mountain Dew flavor, Sangrita Blast didn't not taste well to me. I think I remember a kind of old Mountain Dew flavor that tasted rather similar. It was a bit sour for my tastes, but my wife Daisy seemed to like it.
A story out there is that NASA spent millions developing a space-pen when Soviet/Russian cosmonauts just used pencils is a bit untrue. Like the cosmonauts, American astronauts would use pencils to write in space. However pencils tips often break off which can lead to harming space-equipment. The space-pen does exist, but it was not NASA's invention as a company came up with a pen that could write in almost any condition and later offered it to NASA.
I knew since I was very little that one day I would be married. Though you never imagine it like how it would eventually be. It didn't seem as surreal as I expected but I was glad for the moment to come. I was also glad we found the Unitarian-Universalist Church. They welcome all religious (and non-religious) viewpoints, so our minister had no problem helping an Agnostic and Buddhist get married.

Mountain Dew Baja Blast is one of the new flavors for the soda. Typically this always only around for a few months or so. However I might miss it when it's gone, because I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I actually prefer it more than regular Mountain Dew.
Despite influence from Western nations, Afghanistan is still not a country with true religious freedom. Zablon Simintov is believed to be the only Jewish person (by faith) remaining in the country. He has been reluctant to leave the country, even though his wife and daughters live in Israel.
