Fact of the Day: Southern Hawaii

While looking at a map of the United States, most would say that Florida is the southernmost state. However that's not true, as Hawaii is located geographically more south than any other U.S. state.

I bet a lot of your readers don't know that American Somoa is a self governing American dependency and has the highest proportion of people per population in the US military.
Really I suppose that Somoa has some claim as being the most southern dependency of the USA.

See the Pan-Am incident there if you can re-googled.
I flew with Pan-Am in on the next flight to land after the crash enroute
to San Francisco.
86 killed out of 91 PAX and crew!!!
My flight landed with the hurricane still abatting
and the Boeing 707 skidded down the runway. Scary I can
tell you.
There are more interesting locations of islands in the Pacific than
Honolulu and Waikiki Beach.
