Fact of the Day: Ancient Archery

Bow and arrows have been used by humans long before humanity wrote down its own history. Archaeologists figure the bow and arrow was invented about 50,000 years ago or even earlier than that.

That's an amazing fact. When I was young I wanted to be an archaeologist. Now I am content with learning about the things they uncover.

I like the old picture you found for this post. It would be interesting to know how mankind figured out how to make and use bows and arrows. I think sometimes the intelligence of the first humans is underestimated. I would not be surprised if antediluvian man was more advanced than most imagine.

I wonder who actually invented the bow and arrow so long ago.

Supposedly (the Book of Enoch) a fallen angel taught man how to make weapons.

It must have been discovered by accident.
