Fact of the Day: Pemaquid Lighthouse

Pemaquid Point Light is a lighthouse and one of the most famous places in the state of Maine. However the first construction of the lighthouse did not last long. The builder used salt water to mix with his mortar, and it didn't take long for the lighthouse to crumble.

Ooh, that sounds like a pretty bad mistake. Glad the second attempt to build a lighthouse worked out better. It's a handsome structure--always love lighthouses!
