Fact of the Day: Titanic Hershey

Hershey founder Milton Hershey had originally planned to sail on the Titanic. However business matters caused him to take a ship that was traveling at an earlier date. That same ship sent the Titanic a message about icebergs in the same area where the ship would eventually sink.

Not meant to be for him. I wonder how many people's travel plans were not meant to be back then..

Thankfully Milton was saved! I grew up in York, PA about 40 minutes from Hershey, PA. Milton, Hershey is a GOD in that area of the country for everything he has accomplished.

My son lives in Hershey right now, not too far from Chocolate World. We did go there and learned about Mr. Hershey. He really was an amazing man. I'm glad he wasn't on the Titanic because he really cared about his workers and did so much good for the area. They still have his tickets for the Titanic.
