Fact of the Day: UV Reindeer

Reindeer can actually see UV light which is something typically unheard of in mammals. Researchers have found that seeing UV light can be crucial in their survival.

I wonder if that is part of the reason they become immobilized when they shine a light directly at them...they just stare at it and don't run. Weird. xo Diana

Our roads, sadly, are covered in dead deer. Wish the deer were a tad smarter. Sad to see so many go to waste.
