Fact of the Day: Archer Samurai

While Japanese samurai were very well known for their swordsmanship, when the Samurai first originated they were better known as archers on horseback. They later mastered other weapons in many wars and conflicts.

I wonder who would have won if the Mongols and Japanese had ever competed on horseback. Both were tremendous archers on horseback.

I actually didn't know that! I watched a documentary on Ninja's the other day (available on Netflix). I've always been intrigued by the Japanese culture. Thanks for sharing!
