Fact of the Day: Lone Star

Texas is called The Lone Star state to symbolize its former status as a independent republic (before it joined the United States) which struggled to stay independent from Mexico.

Best I say "me no savvy".
Been there - seen the place and listened
to "How Great We Art" - I have a feeling that
the Mexicans were in the "END RESULT" only TOO pleased to
cede the place to the USA!
Even if it did take a war to lose for the "Mexicos" to realise
that property lost was in the end a Blessing!

If anyone is nautical this is the update on the Sydney - Hobart Yachting classic - 8.30 pm Sunday 27th.
The ocean is certainly winning the battle this year.
Comanche(US) is "limping" but still in front, but another US maxi is close up, with an Aussie and an Italian yacht closing in.
