Fact of the Day: Mother Disney

After the success of his cartoons, Walt Disney got his parents a new house. While they were happy with most of the home, they did complain about the fumes from the gas furnace. Walt sent people to fix the furnace, but it wasn't properly fixed. So as a result, Flora Disney died a few days later of asphyxiation. Walt would live with the guilt of her death for the rest of his life.

Holy donuts! That's horrible, but it does explain the tragic element that exists in some of his creations. Poor thing.

Very tragic. Just like Bambi's mother.

I read that in his biography. He had a hard time with it, and who wouldn't?
