Fact of the Day: Adobe Brick

Adobe bricks are one of the earliest and most commonly used building materials in the world. The word adobe comes from Spanish and Arabic words which mean "mud brick" in English. Adobe bricks are made of clay and are sun-dried.

I grew up near Mission De Santa Clara in California and I recall it was surrounded by old adobe walls.
