Fact of the Day: Hawaiian Thrones

Hawaii never truly unified until the 19th century when Kamehameha I was King of every island there was in Hawaii. The last king in Hawaii at the same time other than him was Kaumualii who ruled the farthest west islands of Kauai and Niihau. When defeat looked inevitable he gave up his islands peacefully by becoming a vassal to Kamehameha I.
