Fact of the Day: Queen Catherine

Catherine of Braganza was a Portuguese princess who married King Charles II of England. She had trouble with popularity in England as she was a devout Catholic. She also never produced an heir for the King, so Charles II's brother James II took the throne after his death.

James II, Charles' brother, was not a happy camper and his reign was extremely short lived.

I hope she had a reasonably happy life. She must have been under a lot of pressure.
