"Half a loaf is better than no bread."
-English proverb
While this doesn't apply to every situation in the world, like those individuals who people think (who coincidentally aren't themselves) can "live" off of the pathetic minimum wage in America even in big cities like New York and Los Angeles. However being thankful for what you have is always a virtuous trait, especially as when greed over-takes us.

True. For me, having half of what you actually need is not good by any means. But is still better than nothing I guess..

I think we could all live on half.....
I've switched to half a loaf and have lost a lot of fat.
Very true, Adam.
I think most of us have all we NEED just not all we WANT. : )

Good post, Adam. So true.
good proverb!
It really sucks to only have half when you need a whole. Though, I do feel blessed when I have excess of my fair share and like to spread the wealth then.
I love the proverb, but I love bread....and now I'm hungry for some lol.
Yeah, this applies to those who have lots and want more, not those who don't have enough to start with.
