Fact of the Day: Cornwallis Greyhound
George Washington had a few pets, among them was a greyhound named Cornwallis after his old military rival/enemy General Cornwallis.
George obviously had quite a sense of humour. Lord Cornwallis was not lean like a greyhound, more like a far too well fed - Labrador or Great Dane. Colin
Funny name.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually really digging that name...unique for sure:D
ReplyDeleteGuess he wanted to always stay on his guard
ReplyDeleteIsn't it kind of odd to name a pet after your enemy? You'd be reminded of him every time you called your dog.
ReplyDeleteAhaha, funny
ReplyDeleteI've heard that greyhounds are great dogs.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very 'original' name :)
