Fact of the Day: Galapagos Country

While the Galapagos Islands were made famous by Charles Darwin, most don't know what country actually has control over the islands. The Galapagos Islands belong to Ecuador.

Not the easiest destination in the World to get to.
Actually probably one of the hardest and there are quite
a number of restrictions for tourists to observe (or else!)
The preservation of the Islands - many of them - 18 I think - is paramount.
The Ecuadorians want this precious part of the World's flora, fauna, birdlife and sea life PRESERVED for future generations of observe and learn from.
Good on the Ecuadorian government.
