Fact of the Day: Louis Rage

King Louis XIII became King of France at the age of 8 when his father King Henry IV was assassinated. Because he was a child, his mother Marie de Medici acted as regent. The Queen mother was helped by her fellow Italian friends and their reign in the country was disastrous. Things were so mismanaged and plagued with scandals that when King Louis XIII finally got power he exiled his mother and executed her followers.
