Fact of the Day: French Liberty Statue

The idea of the Statue of Liberty being a gift from France originated from Edouard Rene de Laboulaye a very notable French political thinker and abolitionist from France.

It's quite a sight to see. My family and I went there when I was about eleven. However, I see it quite often whenever I need to drive to NYC.

I wonder how many people don't know it was a gift from France.
