Harry Burnett Reese had worked for Hershey in Pennsylvania. He later went independent and invented in his basement a candy with chocolate and peanut-butter. He called them Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Founding his own company, he was a success despite the fact that during World War II Reese's Peanut Butter Cups was virtually the only thing made due to lack of supplies in war-time. When he died, his sons merged his company with his old employer Hershey.
