Fact of the Day: Tokyo Tower

Tokyo Tower was built in Japan in 1957. It is the 2nd tallest structure in Japan as of 2016. It was inspired by the Eiffel Tower though it is a little taller than the French original.

That... I knew. And it's one ugly tower, I tell ya, Adam. Reminds me of that Tin Tin rocket.

We went up the Tokyo Tower when we were in Japan! The new #1 tallest structure was not yet open to public attendance then.

I wish they'd come up with a more unique design.

I went up the tower in 1969. The view was then terrific over the city of Tokyo. You could even see right out to the then International Airport - Harenda - Tokyo now has one of the biggest and cleanest International airports in the World - Narita.

I don't believe that the Japanese had any intention to outdo the magnificent Eiffel Tower of Paris.
