Fact of the Day: Beauty Queen

Elizabeth Woodville was a English noblewoman who caught the eye of King Edward IV. She was said to been so beautiful that King Edward IV was infatuated enough to marry her without thinking of the political consequences as kings often married foreign princesses. She proved to be fertile enough to give Edward IV many heirs. But the most important of them was neither of their sons but the eldest daughter Elizabeth of York who married Henry Tudor (giving birth to many children including Henry VIII) and united the houses of York and Lancaster.
