Fact of the Day: High Heels

High heels were most likely invented in Ancient Egypt. But their use didn't become a status symbol (for women and men) until the Renaissance in Europe. In France King Louis XIV decreed that only nobles and royals could wear high heels.

In Venice high heels were called chopines and were worn by women to keep their gowns from dragging in water when the streets flooded.

I used to have a lot of high heels...couldn't walk in them today, tho...

They are so awful! I don't know why women feel they have to wear those ankle breakers.
