Fact of the Day: Lemming Rat
While lemmings are related to normal rats, they're more closely related to voles and muskrats.
I've been in the arctic when there was a high lemming population. I never saw evidence of any of the folk wisdom such as lemmings going over a cliff.. There are lots of them but they seem to know that they have to try to escape predators. I've never seen a lemming of this olor.
Cool to know!
ReplyDeleteCute! Doesn't look like a rat at all..Thank you for your kind comment on my blog!

Not related to humans? You'd think so with so many being lemmings and going off a cliff together.
