Fact of the Day: Napoleon in Great Britain

Napoleon Bonaparte wanted to invade Great Britain in the early 19th century but this invasion was not carried out for other plans. The planned invasion was not a secret as Napoleon was severely mocked by those in Great Britain.

Yes, Napoleon's defeat at Trafalgar meant Britain was safe from a Napoleonic invasion.

Interesting! Here is a bit of related trivia. A nephew of Napoleon, Achille Murat, was a resident of Tallahassee and is buried in one of the old city cemeteries downtown. I posted a picture of the gravesite on my blog several years ago here: http://tallydailyphoto.blogspot.com/2008/11/tallahassees-royalty.html
