Fact of the Day: Catholic Lights

Historically the Catholic Church has opposed many advancements in social issues and science, one of the funnier ones came under the rule of the very conservative Pope Gregory XVI in the 19th century. It was during his time that the Catholic Church opposed simple advancements like gas-lights and trains. He actually referred to railways as "roads to hell".

lmao wasn't for stupid religion we'd be far more advanced, not that that would be a good thing either, Skynet and all.

So many things I could say! But I'll bite my tongue. I don't know if we can ever reconcile science vs religion!
