Fact of the Day: Ben Kingsley

British actor Ben Kingsley actually goes by a stage name. He was born Krishna Bhanji as his father was Indian and his mother was British. He changed his name fearing it would damage his career as an actor.

Brilliant actor, and even if it is a fake name, you have to admit that Ben Kingsley has such a strong, powerful ring to it.

Never knew that. He sure picked a good one

He is such an excellent actor and should have won an Oscar for Schindler's List. I loved him in Hugo as well. He came at a time when many actors did still change their name so I am not surprised.

An actor of the highest calibre.......superb in Ghandi and Schindler's List where I believe he should have won the Oscar.
Actually in that particular movie, every actor played a superb role.

It's a shame that he had to do that.
