Photo: Dead Tree

Two nights ago and yesterday morning there was a lot of rain, wind, and thunder. When we drove out of the house, our usual way was blocked by this tree. A fire truck was on the other side of it. I figured lightning hit it or maybe it was dying and it was just a thread away from going "TIMBER!".It did grow on the middle of the hill on the side of the road.
When we got back the whole thing was chopped into pieces and left on the side of the road. I will assume they'll come back for it later. Either way, not my yard!

We live in an area where there are a lot of trees. Every time there is a heavy storm, trees like this fall over. They always do come and clean up the mess a few days after chopping it up and removing it from the road.

This is reminding me of what it looked like here after Hurricane Hermine came through last fall.

good thing no one was hurt! Hoping that another tree would be born from where it was chopped!

Looks like free firewood to me.

That tree certainly was devoid of a good root system.
Those varieties of trees are really dangerous to have around
residences or in parks and streets.
It is the responsibility of councils and planning authorities
to ensure only safe trees are in residential areas........but
hell MAY freeze over before that is enforced!
