Photo: Labyrinth

In the park near my house they made this "labyrinth" to walk on. It's a neat design, but it's rather dumb to me since you can easily walk around it . It's also not a real maze. It's a pretty simple from start and end.

It looks neat anyway

It must look like a "crop circle" from the sky.

An interesting find though.

Still quite interesting. I've actually never seen one.

Mazes were designed on the floor of European Cathedrals for those men unable to go on Crusade. It was usually traversed on one's knees.

Might be fun for kids

Maybe... it's a metaphor. Maybe it represents our lives: seemingly complicated but not really. Just small and pretty.

No?

Labyrinths are NOT mazes. They are not designed to fool or mislead the walker. Labyrinths are what's called "unicursal" -- they have only one path that, while twisting and circuitous, is easily walked from start to end. They are meant to serve as a walking meditation while you contemplate life. Glad to hear you have one close to you!
