Fact of the Day: Civil Robert

While synonymous with the Confederacy during the American Civil War, Robert E. Lee privately opposed leaving the union in the early days of the war but ended up siding with his native state of Virginia when things got ugly. He called secession "nothing but revolution" and an insult to the work of the nation's Founding Fathers.
